Fabric

Crafted from premium ECONYL® regenerated nylon, an Italian fabric regenerated from discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpets and other pre- and post-consumer waste. The same softness, stretch and durability as virgin nylon, with a significantly lower environmental impact.

Sizing & Fit

Everyone is so different and swimwear is not always easy.
We have made a general size guide that we believe is the most accurate.

  • If you are quite petite, our size S might even be a bit loose, but otherwise they are true to size. 
  • This is our smallest/ least coverage bottoms and can be worn high on the hip or worn medium hip. If you find that you are often in-between sizes I would choose the size up.
  • The girl with the red hair is wearing Scotland green in Size M and the petite girl wearing the Nectarine is wearing S.

OHOY SWIM was created to offer an alternative: sustainable swimwear that helps protect the ocean, land and air, rather than contribute to its further destruction.

  • 8 million tons of waste end up in our seas every single year.
  • 640 thousand tons of fishing nets are abandoned at the bottom of the ocean each year.
  • Each year millions of marine animals are injured and killed by ghost nets.
  • Unless the situation changes, by 2050 our seas may contain more garbage than fish (data sourced from FAO and UNEP).

To address this problem we use ECONYL® yarn - a polyamide yarn with the same performance and quality as virgin nylon without having been produced with the use of non-renewable fossil raw materials.

ECONYL® yarn is a 100% regenerated nylon yarn derived from pre and post industrial waste such as discarded fishing nets, fabric scraps, industrial plastic, and other plastic waste products. Instead of ending up in the landfill or the ocean these waste products are recovered and regenerated.
